Sree Kurumbakkavu Bhagavati
Temple is situated in a village called
Poickkattussery, 2 kilometre north–west of
Athani which is in-between Aluva and Angamaly.
Poickkattussery is a peaceful village surrounded
by paddy fields and agricultural lands abundant
in coconut trees, mango trees, areca nut trees
and a variety of other plants and trees. Sree
Kurumbakkavu Bhagavati Temple is among the many
temples destroyed by Tipu Sultan during his
attempted conquest of Kerala, known as
Tipu’s Padayottam.
